Happiness is waking up in the morning and realizing you still have a few more hours left to sleep. Happiness is splashing in a pool on a hot summer day. Happiness is not being bogged down by any worries. Happiness is knowing someone you love, feeling the same way about you. Happiness is having hot chocolate on a cold rainy day. Happiness is being held by you.
“And you keep whispering the same story to yourself “I’ll be unhappy now because that’ll make me happy later. Because that’s how a story works.” So your happiness will always happen later, never now. Life isn’t a story. Life is chaos.”—The Story In The Distance
“You know i used to spend every day thinking about you and dreaming about you, and everytime you walked by i lost myself, do you know what that feels like? And you couldn’t possibly know what it feels like to have that person not have the same feelings back. Look, im sorry if you miss the way i looked at you, but i dont miss the way you never looked at me.”—Dawson’s Creek
“No one can save you now
Unless you have friends among fish
There’ll still be no air to breathe
You could drink up the entire ocean
I’ll still find someone to be everything we know that you’ll never be”—Luca, Brand New
“You’ve got to take the good with the bad, smile with the sad, love what you’ve got, and remember what you had. Always forgive, but never forget. Learn from mistakes, but never regret.”— Unknown (via justbesplendid)
Maybe I know somewhere deep in my soul that love never lasts. And we’ve got to find other ways to make it alone. Or keep a straight face. And I’ve always lived like this keeping a comfortable distance. And up until now I sworn to myself that I’m content with loneliness.
We can't waste too much time missing something or someone from the past. We accept that life's never constant; things change and people grow apart. Yet we can't stop thinking about how good it used to be; afraid that we'd never experience it again, afraid that we've already lived it and lost it.
